I ran across a link to some great Windows 7 Themes today. I really like the Earth Space and Homer and a Doughnut themes.
These themes for Windows 7 are free for personal use. Don’t bother on trying them with Vista or XP because they just wont work. All the wallpapers used in the themes are credit to their respective authors, but the work done in putting up these themes together is all mine. I’m all open to requests for themes of particular types.
Check them out!

Lots of back end upgrades to the blog lately. Updated my theme to the latest version (Inanis Glass 1.3) and changed a buch of options. The default theme has been configured for this nice dark colord theme called "Void" but you can change it to one of six other color schemes. Just click the Orb (Start button) and the options are listed.
I changed the buttons along the bottom from pages to catagories. This will help group the articles together.
I added some "Quick Launch" buttons with links to my main Ed "The Computer Wizard" site, my Twitter page, and my CafePress page. Feel free to check them out! There were other changes that aren’t visible, such as updates to my Wordpress to twitter plugin, Subscription Plugin, and SEO Optimization pack. If you are using an iPhone, you are probably viewing this page through my WPtouch iPhone Theme plugin.
More to come, so be sure to check back often or subscribe. Comments and suggestions are always welcome!

I had my Windows XP set up the way I wanted it and everything was working. So what do I go and do? That’s right,I wipe the drive and install a BETA operating system. Windows 7 BETA is still available to anyone that wants to give it a try, just go here.
Now, I am not going to blow away a perfectly customized install and then have to start over if the BETA doesn’t work so well with my hardware, so being the cautious geek that I am, I did a back up of my current drive. Please forgive these pictures, I took them with my phone, and they are not the best quality to say the very least. More »

I stumbled across this blog post by Tim Sneath that shows lots of tips and tricks for Windows 7. Since it is currently installing on my Netbook (It’s been running for about 45 minutes) I thought I would take a few minutes to get myself up to speed with this new OS. If you are testing the BETA, you will want to have a read as well. If not, it’s still an interesting read!

Well, it looks like my setup is done running, I’m off to play with my new version of Windows!

Like thousands upon thousands of others, I have registered for the Windows 7 Beta Program. I have my key and I downloaded the ISO, and now I have to decide where to try this out. I have an old Dell desktop that wouldn’t run
I have a nice laptop running Windows XP Media Center. I bet Windows 7 would look great there! Nah, it’s a big ‘ole 17" widescreen job that’s to much of a pain to lug around.
I could test in a VM, but there is always the video issue with VMWare.
I think I’ll use my NetBook. Why not, the Hackintosh project is on hold until I get the memory issue resolved. (Those jerks won’t even reply to me anymore). So, tonight I will start the process of backing up and preparing my Netbook for the Windows 7 experience. I will give periodic updates on my impressions and if anyone wants me to test something specific, just let me know. You can also follow me on twitter for random notes about this and other projects: www.twitter.com/EdNetman
Step one; I’ll grab an image of my hard drive. Pictures of the setup to follow soon, so keep and eye out! Go ahead, subscribe to the feed.
